Remarks
Received from Naomi Williams and David Cooke of SCRI on 18 August 2006 as P538. Authentic isolate. The type strain described by Drechsler from potato no longer exists. This isolate from the study published in 1936 by C.M. Tomkins et al. is regarded as an authentic strain (see tyheir publication) based on morphological characters and growth at 35C. P538 was used in this study: Fungal Genet Biol. 2000 Jun;30(1):17-32. A molecular phylogeny of Phytophthora and related oomycetes. Cooke DE, Drenth A, Duncan JM, Wagels G, Brasier CM.
